Swissnanotech was launched in 2003 by Swiss Business Hub USA and Location Switzerland. Since then, Swissnanotech has organized road shows within the US in order to encourage a dialogue between the US and Swiss nanotechnology communities with a focus on commercialization.

Swissnanotech has also been a Gold Sponsor of NSTI Nanotech, the leading annual conference and trade show for this market, for 6 years in a row. Thanks to the Swissnanotech brand and the Swiss Pavilion at this show, Swiss manufacturers and service providers in the fields of nanotechnology and micromachining are well known in the US market and have a visible platform for making important business contacts and presenting newly-discovered products.

In 2007, the Swissnanotech initiative has been consolidated in an association based in Switzerland with the goal of expanding this international platform. The founding members are Swiss Business Hub USA and Inno-X in St.Gallen.New members are welcome to join Swissnanotech.
