Buhler AG - Nanotechnology manufactures standardized and tailored dispersions of nanoscaled metal oxides to be used as performance additives in liquid formulations. Our core competence comprises the expertise to produce stable and functional nanoparticle-based materials.

Standard nanoparticle dispersions are based on titanium dioxide (TiO2), zinc oxide (ZnO) and hydrated iron oxide (FeOOH).2 in water, xylene and a mixture of ethylene glycol open up options for the photocatalytically active semiconductor in, e.g., solar energy, printed electronics, and superhydrophilic surfaces. Dispersions of FeOOH are available in water and ethanol. Dispersions of ZnO in water, ethanol, butyl acetate and butyl glycol provide a wide solvent polarity spectrum. Dispersions of TiO

OXYLINK™ is a ready-to-use formulated nanoparticle additive which improves film resistance properties of waterborne coatings.

In addition to these standard dispersions, further technology platforms such as dispersed fumed silica in acrylic monomers and amino-functionalized, cationically stabilized silica in water serve as starting points for tailor-made functional dispersions.
